Abstract

|
This study was carried out to clarify the effect of cold storage duration on the growth and flowering of Liatris spicata cv. Floristan Violet. Days to sprouting was hardly affected by the planting date. Days to flowering was gradually shortened when corms were planted from May 1 to July 1. However, corms planted after July 15, tended gradually to be long. The flowering period was found to be much shorter in hot season than cool season. Therefore, it a recommended that corms should be planted to mid July for marketable cut flower production.
